Course description

This qualification supports people moving into leadership and management responsibilities. It focuses on leading others, monitoring team output, responding to workplace problems, and using information to make sound decisions in context.

Packaging summary
Total number of units = 12 (5 core units plus 7 elective units). Four elective units must be selected from Group A. For the remaining three electives: up to three units may be selected from Groups A and B (if not listed), and up to two units may be selected from a Certificate IV or above from this or any other currently endorsed Training Package qualification or accredited course.
Target cohort and entry
✔ Must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent 
✔ Minimum age of 18 years
✔ Completion of Year 10 or equivalent (or relevant work/volunteer experience in community services or health sector)
✔ Basic computer skills for online learning components

NSW Smart & Skilled Subsidised Training and Fee Exemptions:

  • Subsidised Fee: $800 - $1,500 (first qualification)

Intensive (residental/block) Study

  • Held at Aboriginal Health College, Little Bay NSW and other regional locations.

Away From Base (AFB) Eligibility

Eligible Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students can receive financial support for:

  • Travel costs to and from the training location
  • Accommodation expenses while attending training
  • Meals and incidental costs

AFB students must apply for ABSTUDY - Incidental Allowance before their first intensive block.

Note: If you are a Trainee in NSW, AFB is not available. Instead, you may be eligible for VTAS travel and accommodation support.
